Stronger Families works collaboratively with families to prevent children being removed from home or to support them after children have returned home after a period of out-of-home care.
Stronger Families provides holistic care for up to 12 months to families where children are at risk of being placed in out-of-home-care, or are returning from their first period of out-of-home care.
This placement prevention and reunification service provides intensive assessment and flexible casework for families with at least one child aged between 0-2 or 10-15 years, whilst also assisting with the coordination of other services working with your family.

Stronger Families is available to families in the North East of Melbourne, which includes the municipalities of Darebin, Whittlesea, Banyule, Nillumbik and Yarra. We can sometimes accept families living in Hume-Moreland.
Referrals can only be made directly from Child Protection, for families where child protection concerns have been substantiated. Please contact your Child Protection Case Worker if you think this program can assist you.
Children must be either returning home from their first placement in Out-of-Home care, or be at high risk of placement by Child Protection. Once accepted, we work holistically with the entire family.
This program involves partnerships with specialist services including Take Two - Berry Street, Finding Solutions- Melbourne City Mission, Parenting Assessment and Skill Development Service- the Queen Elizabeth Centre.
